The patient presented with complaints of a lower abdominal bulge since her previous pregnancies. She was in very good shape but despite her efforts with diet and exercise, she was unable to get a flat belly. We recommended a full tummy tuck to remove the excess tissue, liposuction of her waist to narrow her waistline, and tightening of the abdominal muscles (rectus) to flatten her lower abdominal bulge. She had a drainless tummy tuck using barbed sutures to eliminate the need for drains. We also used Exparel, a long lasting local anesthetic injected at the time of surgery, to improve postoperative pain control. She had surgery at our JCAHO certified surgical facility and went home after the surgery. She returned to full activity at 6 weeks after the surgery.
