Bilateral One Stage Breast Reconstruction in Downers Grove, IL*

The patient is a 35 year-old female who tested BRCA1 positive and wanted bilateral nipple-sparing mastectomies to decrease her future risk for breast cancer. We discussed her options for breast reconstruction and she decided on bilateral immediate breast reconstruction with Alloderm and 350 ccs silicone breast implants. The surgery was done through bilateral inframammary incisions and the nipples were spared. The patient had an uneventful recovery and was happy with the overall aesthetic result which was comparable to a breast augmentation.
