The patient is a 60 year-old Chicago area female who presented to the office with complaints of facial aging. She was unhappy with her jowls and the appearance of her neck. She also noted she had lost some of her cheek volume over time and her smile lines had deepened. We recommended a short scar facelift with a corset platysmaplasty neck lift to correct the signs of aging. We did this under local anesthesia using tumescent solution and oral sedatives at our JCAHO-certified operating facility in Downers Grove, IL. We used platelet rich plasma (PRP) with the surgery to reduce the bruising and swelling with the procedure and shorten her downtime. At three months, she was completely recovered and had a nice improvement in facial volume and jawline definition while maintaining her normal appearance.
