Surgical Technique
During the initial consultation, the body will be assessed so that it can be determined where to perform liposuction in order to extract the necessary amount of fat needed to perform the transfer. Multiple donor sites may be considered.
The fat is harvested and processed via liposuction using the Wells Johnson closed fat harvesting system which maintains sterility of the fat. The fat is injected into the treatment areas using the MicroAire Power-assisted machine. This vibratory lipofilling technique involves the use of blunt cannulas for re-injecting the fat. The fat is injected into the subcutaneous space eliminating the risk for fat emboli. The combination of the closed system for harvesting, and the use of blunt cannulas with the vibratory lipofilling technique leads to a lower risk of complications for the fat transfer procedure.
This process will take place over several steps, and many layers may be used until the desired result is achieved. The incisions from a Brazilian butt lift are very small and thus scarring after the procedure is minimal.
